We Hate Movies: Live Podcast is happening at the PIT tomorrow (FRI) at 9:30pm!

This episode will be covering COCOON II: THE RETURN.

New York’s own We Hate Movies skewers the worst films offered by the eighties, nineties and aughts, while also skewering themselves in the process. Their targets range from big-budget botch jobs such as Twister and Cocoon, to the made-for-TV madness of Babycakes and Invisible Child.

Manned by Andrew Jupin, Stephen Sajdak, Chris Cabin and Eric Szyszka, members of the Private Cabin Collective, the show revolves around improvisatory riffs off of incompetent direction, wrong-headed script ideas, and miscast actors, amongst a bevy of other cinematic curiosities.

Sarah Lowe and Matt Donnelly are “Honeymooners!” They return to The PIT tonight at 8pm!

Sarah Lowe (The Apple Sisters, Baldwins, Jersey Boys) and Matt Donnelly (Penn & Teller: Tell A Lie, Neutrino, Faculty) return to New York for their first show in a dog’s age!

As “Honeymooners,” Sarah and Matt perform a 2-person improv set based on the classic Jackie Gleason/Audrey Meadows show followed by a second-half, All-Star jam comprising Old School and New School improvisers in a Tarot Lounge Set, where an improvised piece is created based on the comedic tarot card reading of an audience member.

Dark Times: A Comedic Variety Hour happens tonight at 9:30pm.

DARK TIMES is a variety show that takes our audience on an epic journey as we battle the forces of darkness and evil that separate us from our ultimate (undetermined) destinies.

This show was inspired by a poignant evening on NBC’s “The Voice,” where a contestant found himself going through “dark times” after dropping out of NYU’s graduate program for music business to pursue his true calling: slightly faltering karaoke singing.

His parents seemed very disappointed.

Hosted by Megan Lohne and Melissa Somosky, Dark Times will be an evening of sketch comedy, stand-up, storytelling, music, and anything else that might help us laugh our way out of our mild depression.

We’ll never be able to make our parents happy, but we can put on a variety show to pursue our empty dreams. Dark, dark times.

Featuring the Comedic Stylings of Ryan Darden, Katie Gray, Laurie Motz-Lattimer, Binu Paulose and Justin Perez.

In 2013, at Malibu Sands Beach Club, a time capsule was found that contained thousands of VHS tapes marked with “Saved by the Bell: The Lost Episodes.”

As an homage, an all-star cast of improvisers will resurrect these lost episodes right before your very eyes, complete with full costumes, ’90s music, and a whole bunch of time outs!

Going back in time with some of your most (and least) favorite characters in the Saved by the Bell universe never felt so good!

The Mosaic with Scott Eckert Class Show is happening tonight at 6pm. This master class explored the challenging form, “The Mosaic.”

Students learned how to perform improvised “chapters”–five to ten minute mini-forms, each with a beginning, middle and end and with unique conventions, patterns and themes. Each chapter is its own piece, inspired by a relationship-based source scene that runs throughout the show.

What might you call a noir murder mystery, an epic clown show, and a thematic assault on the institution of marriage, each based on a heartfelt scene about two high-school friends? A Mosaic.

An outstanding class for improvisers interested in developing long-form skills essential to free forms and montages.
