Get Out of Your Head: It happens to every improviser: we get stuck in our heads and scenes start to feel impossibly difficult.  This class will give you the tools not only get unstuck, but to prevent yourself and your scene partners from ever feeling lost or confused.  Exercises will focus on the principles of clarity, emotion, and pattern to create richly textured comedic theater.  We will also dip into film, history, music, and literature to find examples of the power of these principles at work across the creative spectrum.  Get ready to get out of your head and into your scene!
BRADFORD JORDAN is an award-winning professional improviser and educator based in New York City.  Over the past five years, Bradford has taught improvisational theater to hundreds of people of all ages and experience levels.  His emphasis on collaborative, emotion-driven narrative has led to sold-out shows and workshops from Sarajevo, Bosnia to Middlebury, Vermont.  Whether teaching six year-olds in their classrooms or adults in comedy workshops, the needs of the student always come first. Bradford performs weekly with PIT house team Senator and two-time Sketchprov Champions, Swords.  He also performs and teaches with The Story Pirates in schools across the country.  Bradford has been featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Chicago Improv Festival, and the Providence Improv Festival.  Once in a blue moon, his one-man improv show, Internal Energy will pop up.
A former student remembers, "Bradford Jordan rocks.  He is not harsh and he doesn’t coddle, he tells it like it is…he develops a specific curriculum for your group, where he makes sure he is approaching each rehearsal with a plan that will target your weaker areas and ultimately make you better improvisers. He’s a superb comedian, person and teacher."
